    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    The Systems Administrator assists the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and implements information systems security tasks, as required for the safeguarding, handling, and controlling of classified information. Knowledgeable in information systems security in order to assure enforcement of company and government regulations. Knowledge of NISPOM, NIST 800-171, DFARS and Risk Management Framework is required.


    Works under the direction of the ISSM and the Facility Security Officer (FSO.) Provides direction and guidance to Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) and Systems Administrators (SA) Works as part of the TBE Industrial Security Program.

    Executes sound internal information systems security inspection skills in accordance with applicable government regulations and company procedures.


    Other position responsibilities include:

    • Apply STIGS to both Windows and Linux operating systems.
    • Work with ISSO to resolve STIG setting issues. (troubleshoot)
    • Developing and creating RHEL Kick start images.
    • Hands-on experience with Image Creation (Windows Deployment Kit, Windows AIK)
    • Experience with deployment, configuration and management of Data-at-Rest (DAR) whole disk encryption requirements for Linux and Windows computers.
    • Assist with the security settings documentation to be included in the Risk Management framework package.
    • Possess scripting abilities to automate applying the STIGS settings on different operating systems that include RHEL and Windows.
    • Applies patches and assists with operating system upgrades on an ongoing basis.
    • Experience with deployment, configuration and management of audit analysis tools and/or a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
    • Assists in spill containment and cleanup.



    Education and Experience:


    Requires a BS degree in a recognized field of engineering or a closely related field of science. Normally requires approximately sixteen years of applicable professional experience or a combination of graduate study and experience. However, assignments are primarily made on the basis of demonstrated capabilities and reputation in the area of specialization.


    Other Requirements:


    Applicant must possess a current Secret clearance. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, or other technical discipline involving the information systems field is required. Approximately 5 years of related information systems security experience in a security environment with demonstrated knowledge of classified IS operation. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux required. Working knowledge of network and communication equipment, protocols, and troubleshooting tools is highly desired. Current/active professional certifications that comply with DoD 8570 requirements are required. Security+ certification is required.
