Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Subcontracts Administrator will handle the entire subcontract life-cycle to include:

  • Drafting, negotiating, executing, administering, and closeout of Government and Commercial subcontracts for products or services in compliance with contract requirements, FAR and DFAR requirements, and Teledyne policies and procedures.    
  • Evaluating sources and conducting market research to determine qualifications of potential suppliers regarding their facilities, manpower, reliability, quality control methods and procedures, financial status and other related items.
  • The Subcontract Administrator will select sources to solicit bids from an approved list of suppliers, prepare bid packages and issue Requests for Proposal.
  • Assist in “Make or Buy” decisions when required, analyze and evaluate proposals to include performing cost and pricing evaluations, conduct bidders’ conferences, select or recommend subcontractors, negotiate subcontract provisions, write awards, and administer resulting subcontracts.
  • Negotiate and coordinate changes to subcontracts, and participate with contracts administration and purchasing to developing and revising subcontract policies and procedures, terms and conditions, and forms.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Requires a BS degree in Business Administration, Contracts, or related field, plus six (6) years of experience directly related to government and commercial subcontract administration.

Other requirements:

  • Must be organized, detail oriented, have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with suppliers and program management. 
  • Must have experience with various contract types (Cost/FFP), have strong working knowledge of the FAR, DFAR and related supplements, and possess knowledge of supply chain inputs supporting both competitive and non-competitive prime proposals. 

Contract certifications and experience with Deltek Costpoint are desirable but not required.
