Position Summary and Responsibilities

Teledyne HIREL Electronics is looking for a Process/Manufacturing Eng to work with the team in developing processes for hybrid manufacturing tecniques and improve yields on products. Contribute on technical engagments during feasibility of projects and understanding requirements for prodcution. This person must be able to communicate in a concise manner with team menbers. Must have the ability to train and work with internal teams in a professional manner. Must be self motivated and ability to learn assembly processes for Aerospace and Defense segments

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the production team to assess and provide required information for product development/assembly and yield improvements
  • Assist in Production, Engineering or Prototype builds as necessary
  • Train/certify operators to manufacturing operations
  • Ability to learn and comprehend new processes and new equipment operation
  • Generate appropriate documentation related internal process and procedures.
  • Contribute and assist in Audit preparations
  • Work with third party service providers for preventive maintenance of equipment, material suppliers and resolution of production related issues in a timely manner
  • Passionate and motivated to ensure products are released on time per schedule
  • Knowledge and experience on execution of MIL PREF 38534/35 qualification processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Background in Product Manufacturing
  • Experience in A & D Segment is a plus
  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision (self motivated)
  • Knowledge of interconnect processes (bumps, bond wire etc) and materials (underfill, die attach, solder flux etc) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Military/DoD programs, systems, and processes preferred
  • Direct work experience in the US defense industry and familiarity with those environments is a plus
  • Ability to communicate and draft appropriate documentation with clarity preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to work with clients, team members, third party service providers and management staff, including both DOD civilian and contractor personnel.

 

Specific Requirements:

  • US citizenship and fluency in English
  • A valid US passport
  • Ability to travel to customer sites within the US and internationally (10% of the time)
  • An active DoD security clearance, may be required
