Position Summary and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. 
  • Routes items to departments. 
  • Maintains accurate inventory of raw materials and supplies. 
  • Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from receiving area to storage or work area. 
  • Work with carriers to facilitate unloading, storage and organization of products 
  • Verify incoming materials and perform visual inspection to ensure that all products are not damaged or deteriorated. 
  • Report incoming packages to appropriate department/end-user. 
  • Maintain accurate log of materials to reflect incoming and outgoing traffic of products 
  • Put away received materials in locations that are in compliance with our EHS regulations. 
  • Provide constant communication between departments regarding shortages to inventory. 

Warehouse Associate

  • Inventory organization and maintenance
  • Unassisted heavy lifting up to 75 pounds
  • Inventory tracking as products moves through the warehouse
  • Label inventory for use
  • Fill and check material request forms from Production
  • Maintain daily inventory logs
  • Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery
  • Equipment maintenance and upkeep
  • Enter items into the inventory management system
  • Routine cleaning duties
  • Interface with management to ensure key objectives are realized
  • Maintain safety regulations and compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Maintain files of receipts and request or return forms from, production

Shipping Duties

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. 
  • Determines method of shipment. 
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. 
  • Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. 
  • Inserts items into containers. 
  • Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape. 
  • Attach identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. 
  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. 
  • Routes items to departments. 
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. 
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. 
  • Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. 
  • Coordinates with carriers to ensure timely pick-up

Education and/or Experience High school diploma / general education degree (GED); and 2 – 5 years’ directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
