Position Summary and Responsibilities


Teledyne Brown Engineering has an immediate opening for an internship in Finance or Business Management supporting a Department of Defense (DoD) program.

TBE is actively focused on recruiting for their Summer 2022 Apprenticeship Program with individuals who have a desire to grow their knowledge and skill set targeted for operating at the highest levels in the defense, energy, maritime, and manufacturing industry. These Candidates will work for a three-to-four-month period on both in-line projects and special projects associated with current and future endeavors in their respective fields. Successful applicants are expected to have demonstrated commitment to excellence in a professional environment, demonstrated a high level of initiative, with a continued focus on learning and improvement throughout their tenure at Teledyne Brown as a TBE Apprentice. For this business-based apprentice, Candidates will be expected to provide recommendations for improving a variety of business-related and program management-type issues. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed into a fast, team-based, and challenging environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive; but don’t worry as our team of mentors understands that our expectations should be balanced with for matching your experience. The intern must be pursuing a degree in Business with a strong preference for financial acumen, financial modeling abilities, work flow analysis and general task management. The intern will work directly with our subject matter experts and cross functional teams supporting the Tactical Range Air Defense Missile (TACRAM) program. For someone interested in pursuing a business degree in an engineering community (like Huntsville), this is an exciting way to grow your resume showing your ability to support a DoD engineering program.

As a part of the prime contractor team leading the Tactical Range Air Defense Missile (TACRAM), you will be surrounded by mentors and experts with more than 225 years of combined program management and missile expertise spread across just a handful of subject matter experts. The candidate must be flexible and willing to learn a broad array of business process and programmatic functions as they look to invest in you and developing your future career.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:
Candidates must be current college students entering their Junior or Senior year.
Candidates must have completed 60 hours of college credit and with a declared major in Finance, Business Management, or a quantifiably relatable field.

This position requires U.S. Citizenship.

Must have, or be able to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance.

Skills:
*Demonstrated critical thinking in complex finance, and/or managerial enhancement type tasks, projects and processes.
*Demonstrated leadership experience through academic and/or extracurricular projects.
*Self-starter, capable of examining established processes and implementing modern best-practice solutions that enhance workflow, reduces rework, optimizes decision time to closure, etc.
*Individually motivated to solve problems, but capable of working across a team to influence desired outcomes.
*Ability to take direction, and convert that direction into a handful or series of meticulous steps that results in a desired end state (ie. the completed assignment).
*Strong ability to communicate, both verbal, written and body language.

Preferred:
*Prior work example and/or class assignment demonstrating any of the concepts presented within.
*A desire to achieve success, and be better prepared for entering into the workforce based on the life lessons and skills learned through the apprenticeship process
