Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Microwave Technician will be responsible for the tuning, troubleshooting, and final testing of microwave components and subsystems. Most of the components operate in the 500 MHz to 26 GHz frequency range. The Technician will also be responsible for supporting the production line in resolving tuning and test issues, including troubleshooting and process related problems. Requires working with a microscope using special handmade tools and probes.




  • A minimum of 10 years of directly related experience working on microwave products in an engineering environment.
  • AA degree in electronics or equivalent desired.
  • Strong knowledge of microwave test equipment like network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure meters, and digital scopes is required.
  • Well-versed in workmanship, quality standards and Mil-STD specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and block diagrams for the components they are working on. 
  • Familiar with all levels of documentation used to support the products in an engineering environment.
  • Must have the ability to manage priorities and support multiple projects to completion simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow written processes and procedures.  
  • Verbal and written skills are a strong attribute for this level.     
  • Good hand and eye coordination is important.
  • US Citizen and able to attain Security Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferably proficient with basic precision soldering, wire bonding, and gap welding.
  • Should have the knowledge to generate and submit engineering change notices with minimal supervision.
  • Should have experience with testing and evaluation of engineering hardware in a laboratory environment.
