Position Summary and Responsibilities

Teledyne Controls LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President for our Operations business.  This position is responsible for all aspects of Operations, including Material Planning/Control, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Facilities, Security and EHS.


Key Functions

  • Responsible for providing management oversight to Supply Chain Management, Material Planning/Control and Manufacturing
  • Responsible for overall Facilities Management, EHS and Security functions
  • Build and maintain strong working leadership with different functional leaders, particularly with Quality and Engineering, to meet the company’s objectives in manufacturing
  • Responsible for all aspects of material management to meet production targets, mitigate risk, meet unexpected demand, while managing inventory effectively and meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets
  • Responsible for making make/buy decisions for manufacturing processes and for building a long-term strategy for contract manufacturing.
  • Responsible for meeting with key customers to address operational issues.
  • Review and contribute in determining contractual commitments in major contracts.
  • Ensure all required Operations’ processes are in place and effectively followed to ensure on-time delivery of products that meet Quality Management System requirements.
  • Responsible for monitoring Sales Forecasts to ensure production rates are set at optimal level.
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting Operational scorecard and high level presentations and reports to senior leadership and corporate executives.
  • Lead and support Production Readiness assessments by external customers including aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Implement and lead best-in-class business processes including manufacturing systems optimization, contract manufacturers and supply chain development.
  • Identify, lead, and implement process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, performance and productivity.
  • Provide stewardship and effective management of resources including oversight of resource requirements, departmental budgets, staffing plans, management of vendors, and service.
  • Oversees technical and professional development of the Manufacturing Operations function.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages direct reports in Material Planning/Control, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Facilities, Security, and EHS.



  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Business, or other related disciplines required.
  • At least a minimum of ten (10) years’ of relevant experience in leading and managing a manufacturing organization, preferably in the Aerospace industry.
  • Experience developing and successfully implementing organizational strategy / vision
  • Working knowledge of applicable FAA Regulations, FAA MIDO, and Federal and State OSHA regulations related to manufacturing in the commercial aviation industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with MRP/ERP system.
  • Understanding of standard aerospace manufacturing practices, AS9000 /ISO9001 quality requirements.
  • Understanding and experience with production functions to include manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, production control, facilities, manufacturing, final assembly, integration and test.
  • Successful track record for building, and maintaining, strong internal and external customer relationships.
  • Demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgment and make timely business decisions.
  • Demonstrate understanding of financial impacts of decisions.
  • Demonstrate champion of diversity and inclusion.


  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience working in Electronics Manufacturing in an FAA regulated environment
  • Prior experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles
