Position Summary and Responsibilities


Prepares and negotiates contracts with customers, vendors, and other parties in a predominantly commercial aircraft parts and services business, with a customer base substantially comprised of aircraft OEMs and airlines. Sales contracts are typically based around our terms of sale and the customer’s terms of purchase. Government sales contracts typically involve our commercial products and services.


Plans, communicates, and acts to meet goals, quality, and cost objectives. Networks with other departments and with customers and other parties. Tasks and assignments tend to be complex and non-routine, typically requiring more expertise than administration. Duties are performed under limited supervision.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following:

  • Responsible for preparing, negotiating, and managing domestic and international sales contracts, US federal and international government contracts, nondisclosure agreements, sales representative agreements, distributor agreements, consultant agreements, licensing agreements, aircraft OEM agreements, product development agreements, and others as required.
  • Reviews, interprets, drafts, and negotiates terms and conditions, generally with limited supervision and without input from Legal.  
  • Reviews and approves contractual documents for protection of company's contractual posture, satisfaction of specifications and requirements, and adherence to company policy.
  • Advises organization of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions.
  • Prepares reports.
  • Identifies obstacles to achieving business goals and provides solutions or seeks assistance.
  • Frequently interacts with supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at various management levels. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific project/schedules.
  • Regularly interacts with senior management.
  • May be tasked to change the thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.
  • Daily availability, and on occasion evenings and weekends as needed to reach goals and deadlines.


Other duties may be assigned.


Education and Experience


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S., B.A.) and a minimum five (5) years of directly-related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Strong familiarity with and understanding of terms and concepts typical to commercial sales contracts, including warranty, indemnity, and limitation of liability.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • J.D. or M.B.A. 
  • Experience in the aircraft parts industry
  • Experience working with sales, manufacturing and engineering organizations
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and other US Government procurement regulations and processes
