Teledyne is looking for a Battery Management System Engineer. The Battery Management System Engineer will be part of our team who design, develop, construct, modify, and test Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) cells and battery systems. You will be responsible for development of Battery Management Systems (BMS) including design and production release of the battery pack assembly BMS printed circuit boards, electrical architecture, wiring, and bus bars.

What you will be doing:

• Designing hardware and software systems for battery protection, charging and gauging
• Developing engineering requirements specifications, test and validation plans for manufacturing and characterizing battery packs
• Developing test plans to test batteries at the component and system level
• Supporting prototype and engineering builds
• Working with vendors to develop custom and semi-custom ICs for battery management
• Conducting rigorous failure/root cause analysis on battery related problems

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• At least five years of experience in Li-Ion battery system development and manufacturing.
• Experience with C, C++, Python and/or other scripting tools
• Ability to analyze circuits, bus bars, wiring, logic diagrams, and other related items to the  battery pack assembly
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and analytical.

Nice to Have:

• Master's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience with materials compatibility, packaging, tooling design, welding, process engineering, testing, or data analysis.
