Summary:

Ensure the manufacturing of Vacuum Envelopes and Travelling Wave tubes are produced per the required schedule with a focus on quality, cost, and manufacturability. Candidate will utilize engineering change orders, to design assemblies and process tooling/fixtures and have a solid understanding of mechanics, thermodynamics and materials. Candidate will work with vendors to ensure engineering design and quality is maintained. Test, implement and document tooling for applications requiring thermal, material, and tight tolerance specifications. Use Failure analysis techniques to resolve production failures, implement corrective and preventive actions, to improve yield and lead times.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Respond to the daily demands of production by utilizing analytical tools to resolve product and process related issues.
• Design, develop and document production process, tooling, drawings to increase product manufacturability.
• Identify production failures and utilize failure analysis tools to document and implement changes in process and procedures that will improve product.
• Develops working relationship with multiple teams which include Material/Production Control, Research and Development, Test and external suppliers.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
• Resistance spot welding/ TIG/ Laser welding
• Microscopes/Automated inspection equipment

Education and/or Experience:  

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Engineering or Physics and a minimum 10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
