Teledyne Princeton Instruments, a business unit of Teledyne Digital Imaging US, Inc,  designs and manufactures high-performance CCD, sCMOS, ICCD, EMCCD, emICCD, and InGaAs cameras; spectrographs; and optics-based solutions for the scientific research, industrial imaging, and OEM communities. Design of mechanical components and assemblies for opto-mechanical instruments as well as supporting equipment. Create and maintain design documentation using SolidWorks. Take the lead in working with design/manufacturing engineers in the creation of manufacturing documents and processes. Support assembly technicians in the fabrication of mechanical prototypes. Analyze and trouble shoot mechanical issues in both prototype and production units. 

• A degree in mechanical engineering or an associate’s degree with exemplary experience.
• 10+ years’ experience in mechanical design, high precision instrument experience is preferred.
• Proven ability for creative thinking.
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to work independently.
• 5+ years’ experience working with a 3D CAD package. SolidWorks experience is preferred but not necessary. Excellent knowledge of drafting standards and tolerancing. The ability to do tolerance stackups is required.
• Working knowledge of machining and an ability to design for manufacturability is desirable.
• Some knowledge of optics and industrial design as well as the mechanical layout of circuit boards would be a plus but is not mandatory.
