Teledyne Microwave Solutions is seeking an individual with a physics background to manufacture Traveling Wave Tubes. Individual will work as a cross functional team member that liaisons between Vacuum Envelope Engineering and Research and Development Engineering.

 

Candidate must have an electrical engineering or physics degree with a working knowledge in Electromagnetic’s. Candidate will be responsible for determining design approach and parameters, select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, use computer-assisted engineering design software and equipment to perform assignments, and provide manufacturing support for production schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

• Provides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of Traveling Wave Tubes.
• Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply physics principles to engineering projects
• Prepares and studies technical drawings, to ensure conformity to standards and customer requirements
• Working knowledge of Inventor, Auto cad, Solid Work, ANSYS or equivalent 3D drafting program.
• Supports existing products by troubleshooting and failure analysis.
• Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results
• Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Delivers hardware designs through prototype, beta, and production release in compliance with product development process and quality practices
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts of engineering studies and projects.
• Briefs others on deliverables, status and progress
• Ability to work independent and within a team.
• Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
• RF Microwave analysis software such as CST and Large Signal Analysis Program
• Knowledge of testing on a Network analyzer
• Basic understanding of mechanical and material properties.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or Physics from four-year college or university or 1-5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• U.S. Citizen is required.
