Reporting directly to the Vice-President Sales, North America OEM Sales Director is responsible for directing the sales activities of the North American sales organization. These responsibilities range from timely generation of the sales forecast, to the day-to-day management of the sales team.
Ideally, the selected candidate would be based out of our Waterloo, Ontario head office, or Sales & Development office located close to Boston, MA
This position is responsible for the creation of annual sales strategies, designed to meet the annual corporate operating plan, to set the stage for continued growth and to lead the sales force associates as they implement and execute on those strategies.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to sales, marketing, support, sales engineering, and business development teams, build a high performing team by recruiting, coaching, and training employees
- Drive GTM plans to improve market reach, enhance coverage and optimize resources to achieve quarterly targets and 5-year strategic plan
- Design and Implement sales objectives and best-in-class strategies (including sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes) in alignment with overall corporate planning cycles and objectives.
- Drive adoption of CRM across the organization. Share best practices for account management, opportunity management, sales reports, contracts. Rollout programs and templates to simplify capture of market data and optimization of sales resource time
- Direct global sales force activities to maximize sales revenue. Build, refine and implement targeting approach to drive new customer acquisition in growth market segments while maintaining current customers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key high-profile customers and sales partners at both senior and mid-management levels.
- Manage activities of channel partners (representatives, distributors and system integrators).
- Monitor performance of said channels and re-align as required, including resolving territorial and cross-channel disputes.
- Set annual sales team targets and associated incentive plans.
- Manage day-to-day activities of the North American sales team.
- Responsible for completion of the annual and forward-looking Sales Forecast for the North American region.
- Identify training needs amongst sales and technical staff.
- Plan all hiring for department and make final recommendations to the Vice President Sales.
- Contribute to the annual Operating Plan as well as the overall management of the company through participation in weekly company coordination meetings and attendance at monthly senior management meetings.
