Position Summary and Responsibilities

Teledyne Brown is seeking an experienced, talented Senior System Integration and Test Engineer to join our team in designing, developing, assembling and testing a wind tunnel laboratory on Redstone Arsenal. This individual will work in a multi-disciplinary environment to successfully support the program's Systems Integration and Test needs throughout its life cycle.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Performing analysis and integration of the system components and interfaces
  • Identifying key system technologies that need to be tested, preparing testing plan, choosing instrumentation and conducting testing
  • Serving as a liaison between the design, fabrication and test teams
  • Coordinating with the model designers and stress engineers to ensure the proper test setup and the acquisition of high-quality data
  • Coordinating effort with the systems and test facility teams
  • Providing detailed documentation of all design, fabrication, and test decisions, challenges, and lessons learned
  • Providing guidance to establish the system configuration for the optimum performance
  • Providing advice on instrumentation, devices and test articles cooling systems
  • Providing guidance on acquisition of needed and modification of the existing testing technologies necessary to adequately execute system integration and test tasks
  • Providing advice and guidance on and performing validation of testing and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) technologies
  • Participating in the program’s overall testing and M&S effort in support of system concept development, design, integration, failure mode analysis, test, and validation.
  • Ensuring the technical adequacy and rigor of systems integration and test efforts
  • Reviewing, interpreting and presenting results of system integration and test analyses
  • Developing and implementing applicable workflows, tools, and methods for systems integration and test effort
  • Collaborate with a joint aerothermodynamics team to coordinate efforts in defining wind tunnel system internal heat transfer rates and surface temperatures, including the instrumentation, devices and test articles
  • Collaborating with System Integration and Test and M&S staff across the program

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience


Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited engineering program; advanced degree is desired
  • Strong system analysis skills and background in system integration and testing for high enthalpy test facilities, thermodynamics and gas dynamics
  • Familiar with common practices and procedures involved in designing high enthalpy testing facilities
