The successful candidate will serve as a Systems Safety Engineering Lead for the Hypersonics Hot Air Tunnel.
The Systems Safety Engineerin Lead must deomnstrate an advanced understanding of the advanced concepts of system safety engineering to include human factors engineering, hazard analyses, hazard categorization, causal analyses, mitigation requirements identification, risk and issues, documentation, tracking and implementing, and residual risk assessment.
The most desirable candidates will have a demonstrated understanding of chemical, thermal, mechanical, and software engineering in a test environment and be able to translate those skills to design and testing efforts.
Work will be conducted both in a engineering office environement and on-site (as needed).
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent field)from an ABET accredited school, with at least 8+ years of relevant experience, demonstrating the following skills:
Experience with safety of structural/mechanical/electrical aspects of hypersonics, wind tunnels, and test equipment
Knowledge of environmental testing of airframes (or portions thereof) and related test equipment
Abitility to evaluate software and mechanical and electrical drawings
Knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and MIL-STD-882
Candidate must be a current resident of or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
