    Position Summary and Responsibilities



    Approves technical reports, makes product design changes and other specifications. Implements and oversee continual improvement of product design while using standard engineering principles. Implements safety procedures, troubleshoots and improves existing processes for manufacturing using new technological theories, concepts and techniques. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected determine methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. May supervise the activities of others.



    Essential Duties and Responsibilities  


    • Monitors existing processes, ensuring records are maintained and variances are investigated.
    • Validates processes to create desired products.
    • Centers focus on quality and regulatory compliance.
    • Monitors day-to- day activities to make sure they are properly planned.
    • Conduct product changeovers and preparation of cleaning instructions.
    • Develop process training for operations and engineering personnel.
    • Scales production processes from prototype to full manufacturing capacity.
    • Independently evaluate, select and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making adaptions and modifications.
    • Interface with production, laboratory and customer personnel to improve quality, reduce byproducts and develop options for producing new products.
    • Provide leadership for processes and small projects.
    • Make presentations to small groups.
    • Use engineering skills to troubleshoot issues and find resolutions using data driven problem solving.
    • Consistently use safety protocols and actively engage in safety programs.
    • Design small projects for enhanced safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
    • Establish strong trusted relationships with operations personnel.
    • Provide and communicate clear, concise and timely reporting of project progress verbally and in writing.
    • Formally communicate with other assigned professionals in Quality, Procurement, Process Development, Operations and occasionally outside customer contacts.

    Education and/or Experience                                           

    Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 10-15 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret qualification protocols. Ability to write and convey test results in a clear and concise manner. Ability to effectively interact with other team members, and others at all levels of company. Ability to communicate well with clarity both orally and written.


    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to establish processes, timelines and the use of Gantt charts


    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of Microsoft Excel, MS Project & Office.


    Other Essential Duties

    Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.


    Other Skills and Abilities

    • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
    • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
    • Active Government Security Clearance (preferred)
    • Ability to travel domestically approximately 10%.
