    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Work Description

    • Provide QA support on manufacturing floor during builds for both production and development programs
      • Perform in-process inspections
      • Audit  drawings and procedures
      • Identify process shortcomings and potential areas for variation
      • Develop inspection criteria for new products
    • Establish, document and implement quality control procedures to ensure the quality of manufactured products.
    • Review drawings, procedures, test data and inspection records to specifications.
    • Working as part of a project team, develop quality procedures for new product development.
    • Perform metallographic lab sample preparation, inspection, and sample approval process
    • Generate materials dispositions to support nonconformance process, perform root cause analysis with the project team, and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
    • Responsible for CMM operation and programming efforts to support QA part inspections (receiving, in process, and end-of-line).
    • Apply statistical methods and controls to enhance quality control of products and processes.
    • Conduct internal audits for compliance to written procedures.
    • Support in-house Quality Management System and 6S process initiatives, act as quality liaison on projects
    • Conduct supplier audits, develop supplier metrics, and qualify new suppliers.

    Skills

    • Demonstrated self-motivation as well as good analytical, statistical and problem solving skills.
    • Experience with measuring equipment including hand tools as well as CMM or other automated measurement systems
    • Must be proficient with standard MS office software.
    • Solid planning, organization, project management and team work skills.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective written correspondence and interface with internal and external contacts.

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering, Math or Science related field required.
    • 5-7 years of relevant Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Candidates with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Math or Science with 8-10 years of relevant experience may be considered.
    • Proficiency in statistical methods, computer skills and problem solving is required.
    • This position requires a highly motivated individual, self-starter, with excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
    • Solid planning, organizing, project management and teamwork skills are also required.

    Desired Education and Experience

    • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer.
    • Prior experience in metallographic lab sample preparation & analysis
    • Experience using Minitab QA statistical software
    • Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
    • Experience with 3D computed tomography (CT) scanning equipment operation and data analysis.

     
    U.S. Citizenship required for government clearance and or data/software access.
