    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Technician for satellite communications industry – Responsibilities may include alignment, testing, troubleshooting and repair of solid state microwave amplifiers and block upconverters. May require diagnostics skills related to power supply designs and working knowledge of serial/Ethernet monitor and control (M&C) interface to aid in customer service. Potential to also assist in customer servicing of product via hands on repair, phone/e-mail correspondence, and field support.


    1. The immediate requirements of this position will require travel to another Teledyne division to fully absorb their existing Test and Alignment methods and techniques. They will then be expected to bring that knowledge back to MEC to assist in setting up a Production line. They will be responsible for Testing and Alignment of the first production units out of MEC. This person will then be expected to train additional technicians to ramp up production on this line. Communication skills and experience in training others is a necessity.
    2. During the transfer to our facility, this technician will be required set up test benches and work with Test engineering to validate the each test bench we setup.
    3. During and after the transfer, the expectation is that this technician will observe and suggest manufacturing productivity improvements to both Test and Manufacturing engineering. They will be expected to provide suggestions for manufacturability and quality improvements for our products.


    Two year associates degree in electronics or equivalent military/work experience. Job requires interest in applying hands-on skills to tune, troubleshoot and test RF (radio frequency) and microwave circuits applying principles and theories of electronics and electrical circuits.

    Ability to travel 20-30% in the first 6 months.

    Solid computer skills.

    Due to classified work at the facility and related access restrictions, successful applicants must maintain U.S. Citizenship to allow the person to hold a U.S. Government security clearance.
