    Teledyne Scientific is seeking an entry-level Information Technology Specialist / Information Assurance Manager (IAM) / Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) position at their Research Triangle Park, NC location. Supports multiple programs administering the Information Assurance duties for multiple information systems and program areas. The IAM / ISSM will coordinate duties with the Systems Administrator and/or Information Technology (IT) staff to ensure all Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements are implemented and functional. This position will also conduct technical and nontechnical reviews and audits. (10%)

    The ISSM is responsible for the Cyber Information Assurance (IA) program as stipulated by various US Government (USG) requirements including (but not limited to): National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) and related documentation such as the Office of the Designated Approving Authority (ODAA) Process Manuals, DSS Authorization and Assessment Process Manual (DAAPM). Components of the IA program include Certification and Accreditation/Assessment and Authorization activities (documentation preparation, system configuration/validation, certification testing, etc.), security sustainment activities (hardware change management, software change management, account management, media protection, user interface, file transfers, etc.), conducting self-inspections, audit trail review, delivering information systems security education and awareness. (40%)

    In addition to the IAM role, the candidate will support IT needs at our facility. Duties include maintenance and support of employee workstations, system upgrades, network monitoring, and network maintenance. Coordinate with corporate IT support staff and leadership in support of company-wide IT requirements and objectives. The Intelligent Systems Lab is also home to a state-of-the-art private cloud that is used for all machine learning projects.  We offer a unique opportunity to be trained in the configuration and support of this important asset which focuses on the latest artificial intelligence techniques and tools.  (50%)



    Required Skills:

    • Must possess or be willing to obtain DoD 8570 certification IAM Level I (one of the following - Security + CE, CAP, GSLC) within 6 months of employment. 
    • Must be a self-starter capable of multitasking and efficiently managing your time in a dynamic environment while requiring minimal levels of supervision
    • Effective writing, speaking, analytical, and customer service skills
    • Must possess the interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of individuals
    • Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment, with demanding deadlines while ensuring internal/external customer needs are met

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience in IT support and network management
    • Experience installing, maintaining, and managing IT infrastructure and hardware
    • Experience with cloud architectures
    • Risk Management Framework experience
    • Experience with national security information system related security requirements (e.g. JAFAN, DCID, JSIG, ICD 503, RMF, DIACAP or NISPOM) to include technical computer/network system auditing
    • Experience implementing government security requirements to include technical computer/network system auditing
    • Experience developing System Security Plans (SSPs) and all supporting certification and accreditation documentation is a plus
    • Design and implement a process to identify and mitigate specific risks within the security environment
    • Knowledge of computer forensics tools and investigative methodologies
    • Knowledge in Windows, UNIX, Linux, Networking and Automated Security Tools
    • Knowledge of system logging and reporting tools/mechanisms
    • Knowledge with the STIG, SCAP, and System Vulnerability Assessment tools
    • Familiarity with the NIST 800-53 and 800-171 Security Frameworks
    • Experience with various types of Special Test Equipment (STE)
    • Public speaking experience 


    Required Education:
    - BS degree in an information systems/technology related field.  1-2 years of directly related experience considered a plus.

    - U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems
    - Security clearance required, or ability to obtain a clearance at minimum
