    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Marine Systems is seeking a Senior General Accountant to provide accounting and finance support ensuring accuracy of accounting records and financial statements. This position will ensure compliance with Teledyne standards and guidelines within a fast-paced environment. He/she must be organized with a high degree of accuracy, business acumen and office decorum.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Key contributor to month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing including accruals and adjusting entries as well as corporate reporting deliverables
    • Ensure accuracy of financial statements and compliance with US GAAP
    • Prepare and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts as assigned
    • Fixed Asset Accounting and reporting
    • Commission accounting and reporting
    • Intercompany accounting and reporting
    • Support payroll accounting and compliance
    • Resolution of AP issues including coding of invoices and procurement card transaction
    • Local lead for Unanet and expense report auditing
    • Support of sales tax accounting and system updates
    • Support of Corporate reporting including inputs monthly and quarterly to OneStream, government surveys, state and federal taxes packs
    • Assist with monthly balance sheet and P & L Fluctuation Analysis
    • Assisting with internal and external audits
    • General review of accounting procedures/practices and reporting to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley 404 and Teledyne Corporate guidelines
    • Candidate must possess U.S. citizenship or be a U.S. Person


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting, CPA is a plus
    • Minimum 5 years of general ledger accounting experience with a publicly traded company
    • Proficiency with Windows, Word and Excel required, experience with IFS software a plus

    • Ability to identify and/or recognize accounting issues/processes that can be improved upon and develop innovative appropriate approaches for implementation
    • Ability to maintain a service-oriented approach to all activities and work effectively with various departments and operations
    • Ability to work well within a team as well as independently
    • Active role in IFS (accounting/information system) maintenance and upgrade process
    • Willingness to take initiative
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
