    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Technologies is seeking an IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Developer/Administrator to join its IT Shared Services team. This individual will be responsible for requirements analysis, design, development, testing, administration and support of the company’s financial planning and analytics environment. This includes building cubes, writing business rules and feeders, developing TurboIntegrator processes, writing SQL queries, and developing and maintaining Microsoft Excel reports.


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Strong problem solving, collaboration, and management skills
    • Desire to work hands-on developing analytics and reporting solutions
    • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing

    Strongly Preferred:

    • 5+ years of previous Planning Analytics/Cognos TM1 development experience including:
    • Designing models, cubes, and dimensions
    • Writing rules and feeders
    • Developing TurboIntegrator processes
    • Applying cube, dimension, and cell security
    • Experience in financial analysis or planning and translating financial requirements
    • Previous experience working for the government or a government contractor
    • Working knowledge of SQL with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server
    • Previous experience developing reports or dashboards with TM1 and/or other reporting tools
    • Knowledge of Visual Basic
    • Ability to write macros in Microsoft Excel
    • Course work or experience in accounting, finance, analytics or business management
    • Previous Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus

    Working Conditions/Environment:

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
    • Potential for limited exposure to outdoor weather and/or fumes


    Physical/Mental Requirements:

    • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment. Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time using close vision, with the ability to adjust focus and perceive color.
    • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery, etc.
    • Frequently communicates with other employees and management to discern requirements, troubleshoot issues, and train. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
