    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    The Jr. Financial Analyst plays a key role in the company's business management, financial forecasting, cost accounting, management reporting, inventory and internal control processes. This role will perform a wide range of budgeting, forecasting, accounting and operational analysis.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    Financial Planning

    • Works with program managers on internally funded projects. Focal point for major G&A investment budget forecasting, including marketing and bid and proposal
    • Financial support to over 20 indirect budget owners. Responsible for monthly reporting of variance to budget and major cost drivers.
    • Trending, reporting and analysis of major company expenses
    • Preparation, review and submission of monthly operation excellence metrics to Corporate. This includes working with Operations to calculate Price of Non Conformance, proactively working with Contracts for on-time delivery tracking and overtime reporting.
    • Monthly Legal and IT reporting to Corporate
    • Lead in preparing and submitting quarterly Capital, IR&D and consulting reporting to Corporate
    • Maintains intermediate pool basis allocations, such as square footage, headcount and fringe allocations for indirect expense rate calculations
    • Supports preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reviews
    • Supports preparation, submission and audit of Forward Pricing Rate Proposal
    • Review and approve indirect expense requests

     

     

    Accounting

    • Supports annual audits and activities in the preparation of annual surveys from corporate offices
    • Supports and contributes to an effective and timely month, quarter and year-end close and provides variance explanations on results
    • Works with multiple functional areas to ensure transactions are coded properly, requiring critical understanding of relationship of indirect cost pools, direct costs and capital purchases

    ·       Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills

    ·       Ability to take initiative to produce quality results in tight timeframes

    ·       Must be comfortable managing multiple projects with high priorities and multiple deadlines

    ·       Ability to participate in group meetings

    ·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office

    ·       Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas and pivot tables

    ·       Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with little supervision

    ·       Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices

     

     

    Education and/or Experience                        

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field
    • Experience in operational Finance, including financial analysis, Cost Accounting, forecasting and planning, and Accounting
    • Experience interacting with internal and external auditors
