    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Energy Systems is seeking a hands-on Test Engineer with the experience to immediately start planning, designing, and performing electrical and physical testing of unique state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery cells using Maccor battery test equipment.

    Work Description:

     

    • Test lithium-ion battery cells using cell cycling equipment (Maccor)
    • Design and fabricate simple test fixtures
    • Write scripts to control cycling equipment using Build Test software
    • Record data and track tests using database applications
    • Collect, organize, process, and analyze large quantities of cell test data to evaluate performance
    • Summarize data in test reports and make presentations to customers
    • Maintain and calibrate equipment

    Rotating on-call duties (typically 1 week period of 24/7 availability) for alarmed equipment malfunctions

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
    • 3 or more years of relevant experience in electrical testing, data acquisition and control, and data analysis
    • Hands-on experience with battery/cell electrical test equipment (Maccor or equivalent preferred), including: script writing for control of automated test equipment, data management, data plotting, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve test and equipment issues
    • Demonstrated attention to detail and expertise in accuracy and precision
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    • Proficiency with Microsoft® Office products
    • Excellent record keeping skills
    • U.S. Citizenship required for government clearance and or data/software access

     

     

     

    Desired:

    • Maccor battery tester experience including expertise using Build Test software with functions and variables
    • Macro construction with Visual Basic® for Applications experience

    Citizenship Requirements

    Due to classified work at the facility and related access restrictions, successful applicants must maintain U.S. Citizenship to allow the person to hold a U.S. Government security clearance.
