    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne Controls is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer who is passionate about design and innovation.


    The successful candidate will plan and build our organization's systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software. In this role the Ground Systems Engineer will analyze, develop, modify, test and maintain the system. Diagnose problems and provide recommendations for improvement on new and existing systems.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Assess customer requirements for adequacy and resolve/clarify any ambiguous, redundant or unverifiable requirements
    • Develops and write Systems Engineering, Integration and Test Plans
    • Define and lead Engineering Trade Studies
    • Prepare, review and conduct internal and customer Design Reviews
    • Lead definition of internal and external Interface Control Documents (ICD’s)
    • Create Systems Requirements Specifications (SRS) from customer and derived requirements
    • Functionally allocate requirements to the correct discipline and verify compliance status
    • Ensure traceability from customer requirements to the systems requirements specification to the hardware and software requirements documents including requirements testing.
    • Supervise the transition from engineering test and product build from development to production
    • Generate and perform system test procedures to verify hardware and software functions at the unit level utilizing external peripheral systems
    • Lead system integration, design verification, validation and qualification
    • Serve as the technical lead on a project and provide requirement and direction to the Engineering Team
    • Review and coordinate the work products generated by engineering for compliance to the requirements
    • Support certification test processes, certification test equipment design and assist in troubleshooting certification failures
    • Support the Program Office in the technical aspects of schedule, resource loading and costing for new and technical refresh designs



    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Sciences with strong computer skills and excellent written/oral communication skills with 12+ years of system engineering or related experience.
    • Experience with DO-178/DO-254 and ARINC 429/717 databus protocols
    • Hands-on experience with development, integration and production testing.
    • This position may require domestic or international travel (<10%).



    • Experience building and implementing test automation frameworks
    • Experience with Doors, JIRA and Agile methods
    • Experience with computer networking fundamentals - protocols, routing, etc.
