    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne HIREL Electronics is looking for an experienced Project Manager to be the interface between the customers and the factory on project execution schedules. This person must be able to communicate in a concise manner with our Aerospace and Defense Electronics customers with clarity and detailed scheduling information. Coordinate with the product development teamsto understand specific information related to ALL aspects of the development cycle. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and present to both cusotmers and internal development teams in a professional manner. Must have experience in using project management tools and generate appropriate documentation for review.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Interface with customers, representing Teledyne with experience, knowledge and authority related to Project schedules and updates on a regularly basis
    • Work closely with the production team to assess and provide required information for product development
    • Identify and challenge internal teams to ensure customer commitments are NOT compromised due to over sight
    • Work with third party services for timely information of SOW and ensure the schedules are on track
    • Build relationships with customers to manage and resolve customer schedule issues
    • Work with Business Marketing for coordinating project kick offs ensuring appropriate information/documentation is generated for management reviews.
    • Ensure standard operation procedures are implemented in any new product development
    • Documentation and Notes management of projects as required by corporate policy
    • Contribute and assist in Audit preparations
    • Regularly project tracking reviews and updates per New Product Development Process (NPDP) flow

    Qualifications

     

    • Master's degree (MSEE) or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant industry experience
    • A strong background in Project Management with PMP certification a plus
    • Experience in A & D Segment is a plus
    • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
    • Knowledge of Product Development Procedure is a plus
    • Defense systems, applications and standards (US and worldwide)
    • Familiarity with Military/DoD programs, systems and processes
    • Direct work experience in the US defense industry and familiarity with those environments
    • Ability to communicate with clarity is a must (defense communications and/or electronic warfare) is a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to work with clients, team members, third party service providers and management staff, including both DOD civilian and contractor personnel.

     

    Specific Requirements:

    • US citizenship and fluency in English
    • A valid US passport
    • Ability to travel to customer sites within the US and internationally (10% of the time)
    • An active DoD security clearance, may be required
