    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Testing standard products, custom, and space flight detectors while providing technical assistance to staff and reviews test data for accurate reporting records.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Test In-process and final standard, custom, and space flight IR/Nir Detectors
    • Test and debug analog and digital optoelectronic circuits
    • Test voltage amplifier, a trans-impedance amplifier, and JFET, transistor components, etc.
    • Create and set simple test programs
    • Working understanding of voltage gain amplifiers and transimpedance amplifiers
    • Write and record test documentation using Microsoft Word
    • Record and analyze test data using Microsoft Excel
    • Assemble and validate test fixtures, test dewars, and testing electronics for detector testing
    • Troubleshoot and resolve test issues or problems caused by detectors or test fixtures and or test equipment
    • Work/coordinate with other departments acquiring parts or product to complete necessary work
    • Assist other test technicians with troubleshooting/resolving test problems
    • Maintain test equipment and test stations


    Qualifications & Competencies


    To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

    • Working knowledge and basic understanding of how semiconductors work
    • Basic infrared detector knowledge
    • Basic op-amp theory
    • Basic electrical knowledge
    • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
    • Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
    • Multi-tasking, Working on a team, Strong communication skills and Attention to detail
    • Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices
    • Highly proficient in soldering electronic circuits and assembling electronic systems (i.e., wire harnesses, test fixtures, amplifier boxes, etc.)
    • Knowledgeable in electronics design and experienced with testing and debugging electronic and/or opto-electronic circuits
    • Capable of drawing and reading electronic schematics and designs
    • Familiar with use of power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, spectrum analyzer, frequency generators, LCR meters, parameter analyzers, thermal chambers, and other equipment
    • Experienced user of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint for putting together clear, detailed test reports
    • Familiar with computer programming and creating simple test programs a plus
    • Comfortable handling Liquid Nitrogen and Dry Ice



    Education and/or Experience


    • Associates degree & 7-10 years of experience
