    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Summary Under limited supervision, manages daily shipment paperwork, and receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, or tools, and compiles stock records in stockroom/warehouse by performing the following duties.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Prepares and maintains shipping and trade compliance documents such as EEI filings, SLI’s, commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipping logs.
    • Utilizes extensive ERP system knowledge to enter shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions.
    • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
    • Determines method of shipment and coordinates with shipping carriers to schedule pick-ups and track shipments.
    • Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices, and examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
    • Monitors minimum and maximum stock levels and initiates purchase requisitions as required.
    • Tracks and verifies accuracy of inventory, counts, and location, by physically counting and identifying inventory within specific locations. Investigates discrepancies or adjusts errors within the MRP software.
    • Stores articles in an orderly and accessible manner in bins, on floor, or on shelves in warehouse or other areas, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
    • Performs kit pulls and/or fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
    • Controls issuing/receipt of inventory from/into stocking locations by following prescribed processes and handling procedures. Includes material identification, counting, transporting and packaging for end user or storage.
    • As directed, performs cycle counting and/or periodic physical inventories and maintains inventory records.
    • Maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
    • Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom or warehouse employees as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience

    Technical Certificate or Associates Degree preferred and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Language Skills                                             

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills                                                 

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

     

    Reasoning Ability                                                     

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    Computer Skills                                            

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ERP/MRP software; inventory software; manufacturing software; spreadsheet software and word processing software.

     

    Other Essential Duties

    Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.

     

    Other Skills and Abilities

    Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9000-2015.

    Extensive knowledge of ERP systems and shipping, receiving, inventory transactions.

    • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately, loudly, and quickly.
    • Ability to count accurately.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy.
