    Position Summary and Responsibilities

    Teledyne e2v HiRel Electronics is looking for a Quality Engineer to work as an individual contributor to

    • Development and maintain technical flows and standard operating procedures to support inspection, verification, and validation of electrical components (e.g., microcircuits), and radio frequency (RF) power devices. 
    • Be involved in quality planning activities which include ensuring accurate inspection criteria definitions are established as needed to satisfy contract, engineering drawing and specification requirements. 
    • Actively leads material defect investigation, analysis, write and resolve preventive and correction actions, disposition defective notices (DNs) and disposition tasks. 
    • Provide direction and leadership for a small team of direct reports (QC and Document Control)
    • Plan, perform, and record supplier performance evaluations (e.g., on-time delivery, yield, and assessments. 
    • Lead teams to find the root cause and provide corrective action for nonconformance and support closing out Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) in a timely manner.
    • Reports on process performance and status through meetings, tasks, and actions. 
    • Support all functional areas to enhance management system methodology while ensuring standardization of process definition within documented processes. 
    • Support production activities to maintain on time delivery of products.
    • Be involved in relevant metrics development and implementation.
    • Plan, perform and lead internal audits for AS9100D, MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-PRF-38534 and MIL-STD-883.
    • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the HiRel Organization quality policy, Management System Objectives, Teledyne values and culture of the organization.

    Qualifications

     

    • B.S. degree in Engineering (preferably in an electrical or manufacturing discipline)
    • 5-10 years of experience in quality in a manufacturing environment 
    • Review industry standards and contracts to the extent necessary to enable assessing and improving management system processes and related performance metrics.
    • Be able to interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data to establish process flows and standard operating procedures
    • Perform internal audits and vendor audits to AS9100D.
    • Use root cause corrective action and problem solving tools to prevent occurrence or recurrence of issues
    • Compile data and perform analysis to identify adverse trends and systemic issues related to product conformity or process suitability 
    • Establish processes for identification, escalation, or action to resolve product or process issues varying from basic to complex.
    • Prepare, issue, or present reports or proposals based on information analysis
    • Perform risk assessments and project management skills to the extent necessary to manage a global vendor base
    • Lead cross-functional teams in quality improvement activities (e.g. Kaizen events, root cause analysis, LeanSigma projects, etc.)
    • Demonstrate proficient skill level with standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vision, Access, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.
    • Working knowledge of semiconductor device structures, a plus
    • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification, a plus
    • AS9100D Auditor Certification, a plus
    • Strong communication skills (e.g., written, oral, listening, presentation, and technical writing)
